IT'S A MUSICAL! ...is now working on their debut album! More info will come soon... "It's a musical!" is Ella Blixt and Robert Kretzschmar. Ella was born in april 1983 in the south of Sweden. Half a year later Robert was born in the south of East Germany. And about 23 years later Ella went south to Germany to do a one week tour as "Bobby Baby", supported by Robert's band "Lady Boy". They came to like eachothers good sense in pop music and made a promise to start playing together someday (but none of them really believed it). By this time Ella had already made plans to move from Malmö to Berlin, and in autumn 2006 she did. But at the same time Robert left Berlin for a city more south-east, called Cottbus. They decided to start playing together anyway and in late 2006 they named their new band "it's a musical!". In "it's a musical!" Robert is playing drums and vibraphone and sings. Ella is playing organ, piano, keyboard and sings. Most of the time Marcel Schaffner is playing the bass guitar and sometimes the jongling balls. (Other musicians may also appear here and there...) Ella and Robert write most songs together. It can be about happy things or bad things or no things at all. "It's a musical!" likes fluffy sounds, simple melodies, groovy beats and swing trumpets. In early 2007 they made a 4 songs demo EP called "The music makes me sick EP". It was recorded in their homes and rehearsal spaces in Cottbus and Berlin. The music makes me sick EP (2007) 1.
